How fat freezing works
Think of a fat cell as a tiny sac full of fat. When you put on weight, most fat cells simply fill up and expand; when you lose weight, they shrink again — but the number of fat cells usually stays the same.
Fat freezing changes that. During cryolipolysis, controlled cooling tells the treated fat cells they have been programmed to die — a process called apoptosis.

Comfortable on the treatment bed
A gel membrane protects your skin, then the 360° applicator is positioned and the vacuum suction begins. You will feel a tight, breathing-like pull as the applicator draws the fatty tissue into the cooling cup, holding it securely against the cold panels. The first few minutes feel intensely cold, then the area numbs and most people simply relax, read or nap.
45 minutes per applicator
Each paddle stays on for around 45 minutes while you read, scroll or nap. Lana stays nearby and checks on you and the applicators throughout, finishing with a two-minute massage of the treated area to boost results.
What does the suction feel like during fat freezing?
The vacuum suction is the key to 360° cryolipolysis: it pulls the skin and underlying fat into the applicator cup so the cooling panels can target the fat cells evenly. It feels like a firm, tight grip — a deep breathing pull that tugs the treatment area inward and holds it still. The sensation is strong but not painful, and it eases after the first few minutes as the cold numbs the area. - • Recent surgery or scarring in the treatment area (within 6 months)
- • Active cancer or currently undergoing cancer treatment

Can fat freezing help with cellulite?
Fat freezing reduces the fat layer, which softens the look of dimpling, but cellulite is mainly a skin and connective-tissue issue. Fat freezing is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with cryoglobulinaemia, cold urticaria, paroxysmal cold haemoglobinuria, Raynaud's, a hernia in the area, active skin infection or open wounds, severe diabetes, liver or kidney disease, bleeding disorders or blood-thinning medication, active cancer, or if you are under 18. Is fat freezing a weight-loss treatment?
No. Cryolipolysis is a body contouring treatment for stubborn, localised fat in people who are already near their target weight. It is not an alternative to diet and exercise.
